LiveBetter participated in the ECTP Conference 2026, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, policymakers and other stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of the built environment and the role of innovation in achieving sustainability goals.

During the conference, project partners ECTP, MoS and UNIVPM represented the LiveBetter consortium at the poster exhibition, where they presented the project's objectives and ongoing activities. The event also provided an opportunity to distribute project flyers and engage directly with attendees interested in digital solutions for building performance, energy efficiency and renovation.

The conference programme featured extensive discussions on the growing importance of digital technologies in the construction and building sectors. Topics such as data-driven decision-making, digital twins, interoperable building information systems, artificial intelligence, digital building logbooks and advanced technologies for building operation and renovation highlighted the sector's increasing focus on leveraging digital intelligence to accelerate decarbonisation and improve building performance.

These discussions closely reflect the ambitions of the LiveBetter project.

LiveBetter aims to improve the collection, quality and interoperability of building data through the development of a comprehensive Data Quality and Interoperability Framework. By enabling the harmonisation of building performance data models and standards, the project seeks to support more effective data exchange and collaboration across the building ecosystem.

The project is also developing a portfolio of digital services for building certification, inspection and renovation, helping improve the accuracy of Dynamic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and supporting more informed investment decisions for deep renovation projects. In parallel, LiveBetter is creating solutions for comfort optimisation and flexibility activation, enabling buildings to better balance occupant comfort, energy efficiency and interaction with smart energy grids.

A key element of the project is the future European Digital Buildings Hub, which will facilitate federated data access and support the creation of a scalable and community-centred ecosystem for building performance data across Europe.

The exchanges held during the ECTP Conference confirmed the relevance of these objectives and highlighted the growing need for interoperable, trustworthy and accessible building data to support Europe's energy transition. As digitalisation continues to transform the construction sector, initiatives such as LiveBetter are helping bridge the gap between innovative technologies and practical applications that deliver measurable benefits for building owners, occupants and communities.
